However, we still love the original version all the same
Hands up if you’ve seen Gone With The Wind? There’s a high chance that you have, because this movie is hugely famous, even though it’s a whopping 80 years old now! Gone With The Wind was nominated for an impressive 13 Academy Award nominations, but it’s only recently that eagle-eyed fans have spotted something unusual.
Considering this movie supposedly takes place in 1861, we can’t help but wonder what use an oil lamp in the 19th century would have with an electrical cord. It’s just another example of people not using their history textbooks before making a film. However, we can kind of forgive them considering they did make this movie so long ago. If it was more recent, we’d have been a lot less forgiving.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
Although we’ve now seen all the Star Wars movies more times than we can count, that hasn’t stopped George Lucas and his team from making a few mistakes here and there. And us from noticing them along the way. However, you need to look really closely for this one.
As Poe makes his way into one of the X-wing fighters, we can see that there’s a few scratches and marks on the windows. When we get close-ups of the other pilots on the team, they have the same marks. We guess you can’t complain about recycling. At least they haven’t had to use up a load of resources making a ton of X-wing fighters, when they can just reuse the same one.
E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
If you’ve ever watched the 1982 version and the digitally corrected 2002 version of E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial, you might realize that ET’s fingers are a little different. Of course, we don’t expect ET’s fingers to be the most beautiful things in the world, considering he’s an alien. However, they are one of the most important bits of the film.
And, they do need to be the right way. In the digitally corrected version, the production team had to switch around his hands and fingers to make sure they matched up. It looks so much better now. Who cares if his hands and fingers match up? I mean, come on guys, he’s an alien!
Green Book (2018)
What do you get when you mix Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali? You get an Oscar-worthy performance! These two legendary actors took on the lead roles in the 2018 comedy-drama, Green Book, and it’s fair to say that the world loved it. In fact, it’s now the 130th top rated movies on the IMDb list, which is quite impressive for a recent flick.
Unfortunately, their fried chicken ventures weren’t too accurate, as the pair eat Extra Crispy Kentucky Fried Chicken in the car. That didn’t come into our lives until the late 1970s…Had they gone forward in time? Considering the movie was set in the 1960s, that’s the only reason we can think of. However, we also can’t imagine a time without Extra Crispy Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Arnold Schwarzenegger will forever be remembered as the Terminator, but there were a few issues in the second movie. The critics and fans will tell you that! However, we’re not talking about what people thought of the film itself, we’re talking about bloopers! And this film has one pretty obvious mistake that you really can’t miss.
When the T-1000 makes his way into the helicopter by smashing the window and climbing inside, you’d expect to see a giant hole in the window for the rest of the scene. However, just a few seconds later, the hole has gone and the windshield is back together again. Either that was magic or one major mistake that we just can’t ignore. How hard is it to remember what happened a few seconds ago?!
